ABOUT :: Jason Sky

PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

In Hollywood, great style is a business that Jason Sky – a creative director, wardrobe stylist, and costume designer – navigates with grace. He is the formidable talent behind the talent, responsible for crafting memorable fashion moments in music, in film & television, in print, and on the red carpet.

A Los Angeles native, this Morehouse man began his career in entertainment by walking away from one in corporate America. Jason decided to follow his passion instead of a paycheck, and began working part-time at a hip clothing boutique in Atlanta. The boutique developed a strong list of high-profile clientele, and with Jason’s help, he became manager and helped launch a successful styling division. One of his first major opportunities came when the mother of a popular neo-soul singer asked him to assist on an album cover photo shoot for the artist. That job launched Jason’s career as a wardrobe stylist. He has since built a diverse portfolio of clients that include bona fide stars in the business of music and entertainment.

Jason Sky has showcased his talent to dozens of productions within the music, film and television industries, including commercial and editorial work. In addition to his gift as a stylist, Jason also produces his own beautiful original pieces – from concept sketches to construction. He draws creative inspiration from legendary fashion designers including Tom Ford, and the late Alexander McQueen, as well as from his observations within nature, and from the emotion and experience of music.

In 2005, Jason beat over 1,000 people auditioning for a spot on the TV One network’s show Makeover Manor. It was his first-ever audition. As a resident stylist on the show, Jason re-worked the looks of deserving people, giving expert advice and producing smile-worthy before and afters. His on-camera role on Makeover Manor provided a platform to teach great style, and to showcase his talent in front of a broad television audience.

When asked his recipe for consistently winning looks, Jason replies, “I believe that every woman has “Diva” potential and every man has a classic quality. I focus on great use of color, accentuating the positives, minimizing the negatives, and mixing high and low end pieces to produce a truthful image that my clients can feel confident in.”

Currently, Jason Sky is a sought-after Wardrobe Stylist and an emerging Costume Designer. Ever a student of his craft, he proudly notes that his successful business has been built one client at a time. A humble spirit, he looks not to accolades as indicators of accomplishment, but instead to the faces of his clients where beautiful, confident smiles are all the confirmation Jason Sky needs to recognize he has made a positive difference on the fashion experience.

Jason is a member of the Costume Designers Guild, Local 892 of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees.
